Back-End Developer
Our mission at Chordify is to make it as easy as possible for musicians of all skill levels to learn to play their favorite music. Our apps and website are powered by a distributed Haskell back end.
We are looking for a new proactive, independent and creative functional programmer to improve the Chordify back-end infrastructure, core technology, and launch new ideas to join our team of experienced developers in our offices in Utrecht or Groningen.
Are a Haskell programmer
Have 3 - 5 years of professional experience (not necessarily in Haskell)
Live in The Netherlands and have good English communication skills
Know SQL and relational databases
Have experience translating business requirements into technical needs
Like coming up with new ideas and sharing them
Enjoy technical challenges
Are a bunch of friendly, open, sometimes funny, always caring people, from a variety of cultural and professional backgrounds

Design, develop, deploy and operate services that support millions of users
Implement and test the Chordify Haskell back end
Encounter other technologies and figure them out as you go. Examples (no experience needed!): Amazon AWS, Bash, HAProxy, MariaDB, Nagios, ProxySQL, Puppet, Python, Redis
Work together with frontenders and designers to implement new and exciting features
Help user researchers and marketers get the answers they need
Be part of a growing multidisciplinary team that continuously experiments, iterates on and delivers new product improvements
Work at least four days per week
You will be active in several teams, and will, for example, develop new features for our users, dig up data to help our user researchers with the burning questions that they have, and work on our in-house email framework.
To work at either our Utrecht or Groningen office and, if you want, partially from home
A gross monthly salary of €3800 to €5000 (excluding 8% holiday allowance) depending on your skills and expertise
