As Team Lead of our Engagement & Retention team, you'll be leading a multi-disciplinary team of around 9 people on one of Chordify's most important challenges: keeping our users engaged and coming back. That means building habits, creating stickiness, and making sure that once someone discovers the joy of playing music with Chordify, they keep doing it.
This is a leadership role with real strategic weight. You'll work closely with the Product Owner to co-create the quarterly direction for E&R. You bring the industry knowledge and business perspective, and together you turn that into a clear roadmap. You'll coach and develop your team members and you're comfortable challenging them and holding them accountable when it matters. You'll also you dig into user behavior together, and advise Chordify's leadership on all things E&R.
The biggest E&R challenge: Chordify has a great product, but turning casual visitors into habitual learners takes more than good features. It takes deep understanding of user behavior, smart experimentation, and a team that stays motivated even when results move slowly. If that sounds like an exciting puzzle rather than a red flag, this role might be exactly right for you.
You'll thrive here if you:
Have extensive experience in a relevant field such as marketing, product, user research, or commerce. With a solid background in B2C or subscription-based environments.
Know what makes people engage and come back and creates clarity where there is none.
Naturally look a few quarters ahead and create strategy together with others.
Are comfortable working with data, KPIs, and stickiness metrics and are curious enough to go deeper when the numbers raise questions.
Are located in the Netherlands.
Nice-to-haves:
Have experience with an app or edtech environment
Hands-on experience with A/B testing, lifecycle marketing, or behavioral nudges
Experience setting up or improving engagement and retention frameworks from scratch
Why join us?
A bunch of friendly, open, caring people, from a variety of cultural and professional background
Agile principles in most of our day-to-day work
Real impact for everyone, without micromanagement
We love music!

You will
Bring a commercial mindset: where do users drop off, what creates habits, and what can we do differently?
Lead and coach a multi-disciplinary team of 9 people focused on engagement and retention.
Co-create the 4-quarter rolling strategy for the E&R team together with your PO and team. You bring the business perspective, your PO brings the product perspective.
Own team dynamics: make sure the right people are in the right place and growing in the right direction.
Act as an advisor to Chordify's leadership and strategy team on E&R topics.
Analyze user behavior together with your team and translate insights into concrete experiments and roadmap items.
Drive a culture of learning within the team: test hypotheses, reflect on results, and stay curious about what's actually moving the needle.
In the first 100 days, you'll get deep into the current state of E&R at Chordify. Understanding the metrics, the team, the existing initiatives, and the gaps. By the end of that period, we expect you to have a clear picture of the challenges ahead and a draft roadmap for the coming quarters.
Over your first year, you'll fully own the people leadership of the E&R circle and become a strong co-driver of its strategy. You'll grow into a trusted voice in Chordify's broader strategic conversations. If you're successful here, there's room to grow further on a strategic level within the company.
